ABOUT US

This is a pic. of one of my favorite spots on the Williams River

The Williams River flows into the Gauley river just south of Donelson WV in Webster Co.. My father would takes us fishing and ramp digging up there during my childhood. the spot pictured here was always good fishing for me and it was one of the few spots I wade out into the river. Just up the river a short way is the bridge that crosses Williams heading up towards the tail waters. Dad, my brother and I would leave early on a Saturday morning and dig ramps till our sacks were full then would fish our way to the old mine that only a stones throw from this picture to call it a day. Driving home through Cowen to Camden On Gauley he would show us where his dad worked as a young boy at the hardware store and tell stories about moonshine stills, outlaws and legends of old confederate soldiers graves all up and down the river that had been forgotten about.

My life has always been about the Gauley River and its tributaries. From hunting on the farm, fishing on the rivers, swimming at Sammons run and camping by the lake at the mouth of Hommony. Every person who takes a moment to think about their childhood can remember good, bad, happy and tearful times. it just so happens that this beautiful river runs through mine.
